I am writing this to let you know some things about me while trying not to give too much information away...
I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I write poetry - I have a couple of books published, the first of which, he said it to himself, is currently out of print, and the second of which, safety matches, is available through this site. I also sculpt, and there could be some pictures on this site somewhere. And I am currently (typing this on 6th Nov., 2004) writing a book about the church and its institutions with the working title Dechurching Christianity.

I've been playing guitar professionally for over 30 years, doing rock, blues, reggae, country, folk, soul, gospel, jazz, etc. and working solo, in bands and duos. I've recorded 18 albums (some of them collaborations), and worked as producer/session musician on a number of other projects, as well as general session work for jingles, demos, film soundtracks etc.
I've gigged extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia and England, and performed a numbrr of times on television and radio. I also teach guitar from time to time, and run seminars on guitar, songwriting, performance, creation stewardship, Christian spirituality, emotional healing etc.
I'm also a sometimes writer, having published two volumes of poetry, and written articles for a number of national and international magazines.
I'm currently living in Whangamata, Coromandel, New Zealand, with my musician wife Brenda, 18 varieties of fruit trees, and an inquisitive local community of possums.

Vocationally, I'm a software developer, and developing the software for C-Side Media has been a rewarding personal project. I've previously worked as a book editor and a technical writer.
Creatively, I'm a writer (fiction, non-fiction and poetry), photographer, painter, liturgist and ritualmaker.
Theologically, I like to say I'm not a heretic, just orthodox in an unusual mode. But I probably am a heretic really.
