Looks like I’ve sold another story that I’d given up on. This particular market has had it since November last year, and never responded to my 90-day query in February, but I couldn’t think of another market to submit it to, so I let it sit.
Today they contacted me to say they thought they’d bought it, but had just realised that they hadn’t. (Their internal systems have been kind of a train wreck, by all indications.)
Better late than never?
Congratulations seem to be in order, regardless.
At least they started their email, “Here’s something pretty embarrassing.”
Not only did you sell a story, you obtained a new story-selling story. Yay!
I’ve had another story at a different market for 391 days now, and no response to my query. Maybe someday they, too, will wake up and buy that story, but I’m not holding my breath.
On the upside, that makes seven acceptances this year so far.
Just goes to show, ya never know.
Of their system is that mucked up I’d be sure to keep on them about getting paid.
Good point, Ada Soto.
congratz!
Congratulations!
