I’m a believer in teaching students about neuroplasticity, etc. … but let’s face it: we already know about that, and we’re doing a terrible job with education because our PHILOSOPHY of education is screwed up. More science will not save us from our fundamental failures in envisioning what education is about. So, until we actually address those problems (and we don’t have to wait on science; we can address them now), things are not going to change for the better, and we will continue to fail in our duties as educators. Personally, I think we need more Buddhism in the classroom; if people could check their egos at the door, that would be a much bigger help than any data set I can imagine! 🙂
