I think this is unduly pessimistic. While there are massive problems with the Internet, and it’s hard to see how to solve them, it has brought great benefits. And I have to wonder whether the Internet created the problems or merely exposed them.

Was this person envisioning a utopia where only those whose ideas he (rightly) condemned would be silenced and driven offline?
And if not, what exactly did he mean when he said “a place where everyone had a voice”?
Because those two ideas are incompatible.
Yeah, the thing about a lot of utopias is that they’re achieved by controlling everything so it can be perfect. Which is a dystopia for anyone who has a different idea of what is good.
