  1. Well, kind of. More like, “The reason women read this kind of fiction when it’s written by other women is that it gives them a woman’s viewpoint, and a man using a female name isn’t quite that without a lot more effort.”

  3. Well, yeah…writing well from the viewpoint of someone unlike you is a lot of work. The article even lists the work that the novelist in question went through in order to accomplish that.
