If and when this happens, it will definitely feel like we’re living in the future.

I had an idea for a story (well, plot device anyway) about an invention called Potential. It’s a semiliquid mass of everything that when you drop a programmer on it, it uses it’s own mass and chemical energy to create what you programmed. It can make a wrench, fighter jet, clone…
It’s impractical in real life though. If you could make it, the stored energy would be hazardous on a larger scale than the Hoverboard batteries.

My novella Gu goes further, and has self-mobile programmable matter (powered by not-germaneium).

Wait, you stole my idea!? LOL
Most of my “original” ideas have already been thought (and often implemented) by others. It’s common in the music industry as well, as there are only so many chord combinations…

I see Gu is on Amazon. May have to check it out later, thanks. 🙂

I should warn you that it’s not a plotted book, more an exploration of the ideas in the form of a documentary.
If you want to pick it up this month, it’s on half-price sale at Smashwords.
