It’s transparent to infrared, but not to visible light, which means it works as clothing – so long as nobody has an infrared camera, of course.

Taking the infrared filter off video cameras was a thing, back in ’90s. The ccd’s of cameras back then weren’t as fine tuned as now and would pick up a fair amount of IR.
