Who else has read Lois McMaster Bujold’s Ethan of Athos?

Something I’d never thought about tho: Or one man could have his own child using his own cells and sperm – with that child being more like a non-identical twin than a clone. 😮 What do you guys think about that?
I have the start of a story tucked away somewhere about a planet of women who have been biologically altered to give birth to their own clones, as well as to combine their genes together. Owes something to Brin’s Glory Season and various other authors (Sherri Tepper among them).
Haven’t read the above yet, but planning to sometime soon. Sherri Tepper and Heinlein, yes. I wrote a story using that concept years ago, still unpublished.
As for the importance of a man having his own cloned child. Some will want that, but are doomed to disappointment when the child does not replicate him exactly. How can it?
We all have a lot of hidden genes, traits, that hark back to ancestors generations ago.
