Reigngifts

It’s traditional for Realmgolds to give gifts to the public on certain anniversaries of their reigns, corresponding to key numbers in the elven and dwarven number systems. Religious gifts are traditional in the (elven) multiples of three, and more secular gifts in the (dwarven) multiples of four.

3 – some small but valuable ritual object

9 – a temple (new or renovated)

27 – a school

4 – a statue, monument or the like

16 – a public hall

64 – a park, concert hall or other public space

The more prosperous lesser Golds also do this on a smaller scale.

It is also traditional on the 81st day of a new reign to release prisoners of the prior regime, if they are considered relatively harmless. This happened to Gizmo and Dignified.
